Ebersole Foundation
The Ebersole Foundation exists to support and assist the Vernon D. Ebersole Environmental Education and Conference Center (Ebersole Center) in its mission: To inspire learners of all ages to embrace nature, to engage their minds, and to acquire an awareness of responsible stewardship for our places.
The Ebersole Foundation mission is to provide charitable, scientific, and educational support to the Center. More specifically, to raise funds to assist the Ebersole Center in land acquisition, capital improvements, stewardship activities, program development, and to subsidize the cost of attendance for Lansing School District students.
In 2003 the Ebersole Foundation was created to assist the classroom teachers in that mission. We established grants to help off-set the cost of urban students attending the Center. We have assisted in capital improvements and expanded the existing 158-acre Ebersole Center site with an additional 55-acre buffer farm. All these goals are critical to the Ebersole Center in order to continue to deliver and promote the essential environmental education services that it has provided since 1977.
Ebersole Center immerses students in Nature, away from the electronic demands they experience daily. It helps them to develop an appreciation for their place in Nature which will guide their decision-making as adults. These valuable outdoor experiences are memorable to students and, by their nature, the most inspiring.
